History
The history of foundation and development of OAO (Open Joint-Stock Company) Trubodetal is intimately connected with the native history. When in the latter half of the 1940s in the USSR large-scale post-war economic recovery started, in Chelyabinsk – in Novosineglazovsky settlement of urban type – a Combine of manufacturing plants of Benzinoprovodstroy trust (that supplied Ufa-Chelyabinsk-Novosibirsk gasoline pipeline, which was the largest in the country, with materials) was created.
It is the date of foundation of this plant – November 18, 1949 – since which work history of Trubodetal plant begins.
In the 1960s construction of gas and oil pipelines moved to the forefront in the USSR. Novosineglazovsky plant started production of pipeline fittings ensuring construction of the most important pipelines of that time.
In the 70s a unified system of oil and gas pipelines was created in the USSR. To develop advanced technologies, increase production output and improve quality of pipeline fittings, a special design bureau was created. Novosineglazovsky combine became a leading highly mechanized plant in the country manufacturing a wide range of fittings for all gas and oil pipelines in the USSR.
The 1990s were the most difficult period not only for the country, but also for its industries including oil and gas industry. Due to termination of construction of pipelines the plant mastered production of unique roofing panels.
In 1994 upon changes in the management OAO Trubodetal got its second wind. Investors were attracted, reconstruction was performed, advanced home and foreign developments were introduced, and new products were mastered.
In 2005 OAO Trubodetal was integrated in the United Metallurgical Company (OMK). OMK merged with Trubodetal because it was necessary to offer package solutions for construction of main networks to the consumers as well as to optimally meet interests of its clients.
Today OAO Trubodetal is one of the largest mills in Russia and CIS that produces connections for pipelines from low-alloyed steel with the diameter from 57 to 1420 mm. Trubodetal is the key supplier for constructions of oil and gas supply pipelines and main pipeline networks. Productions facilities are capable to manufacture 30 thousand tons of connections annually, with more than 500 sizes both seamless and punched and welded connections (induction bends). All Mill's products are certified to ISO, GOST R and meets the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
Plant’s Chronicle

stamped and welded reducers with diameter up to 1,420 mm and rolled and welded tees made of sheet billets.
The plant supplied 11 ths tones of fittings and was the only plant in the country manufacturing large-diameter fittings. The Council of Ministers of the USSR granted Red Challenge Banner to the plant for early completion of national economic plan.
1976. A Certificate of Honour of the Presidium of the RSFSR Supreme Soviet was awarded to the plant for mastering of production of new types of products and achievement of high technical and economic indicators.
The early 1980s. The USSR Ministry of Construction for Oil and Gas Industry resolved to renovate the plant and to create a specialized plant for manufacture of pipeline fittings. The state-of-the-art equipment was purchased in Germany, Belgium and Japan. After a little while output of pipeline fittings amounted up to 16 thousand tones per annum.
1981. Novosineglazovsky Combine of manufacturing plants was transferred to VPO (All-Union Industrial Association) Soyuzneftegazstroykonstruktsiya.
1983. In accordance with the Resolution the USSR State Committee for Construction Issues, Central Department of the scientific and engineering society for construction industry, the board of the USSR Union of Architects, a Soyuzneftegazstroykonstruktsiya diploma of the Ministry of Construction for Oil and Gas Industry was presented to the plant for high quality of manufacture of fittings and pipe assemblies for all types of main pipelines, high technical and economic indicators.
1986. The plant was renamed into Production Association (PO) Trubodetal. The association was consolidated with the SKB.
The 1990s. Due to decrease in volumes of pipeline construction PO Trubodetal mastered production of unique products – three-layer self-supported roofing panels with insulants made of mineral wool boards TU 102-545-90 for areas with low outside air temperature (from -30 to -50°С), areas of increased seismic activity (up to 9 on Richter scale) and high design snow load (up to 100 kgf/sq.m).
1994. In accordance with the government privatization program PO Trubodetal was reorganized into public corporation (AOOT Trubodetal).
1996. Public corporation Trubodetal was renamed into Open Joint-Stock Company (OAO) Trubodetal.
1999. During scientific and engineering meeting of Stroytransgaz Association of Construction and Assembly Organizations a task of mastering parts of new generation and expansion of a range of standard sizes was assigned to OAO Trubodetal.
The plant was renovated.
